One of the co-founders of Running from Anxiety, Christine was diagnosed with anxiety and depression in 2003 at the age of 23. After struggling for over a decade; off and on medication and working with different therapists, it wasn't until she found the right combination of supports, medication and exercise that she began to manage her mental illness and thrive. She met Ally in 2015 as a student in her Advanced Placement Biology class and after a lesson on neurotransmitters and mental illness, the two realized they had a connection. In 2017, they began running together and entered their first 5K. It was then that they realized the endorphins released from running created a freedom from the anxiety they felt daily; Running from Anxiety was born. Today, Christine works as an Assistant Principal of a public high school and mental health advocate. She writes and speaks about mental health in schools and lives with her husband and two young children outside of Boston. Spreading the message of her cause is her life's passion.
